Review:
The Madonna Inn is a wonderful dance environment.
There is nothing like it. When people ask me about it, I
have a hard time explaining it if they've never been there.
There is no other place with atmosphere quite like it. It's
Free, all ages, and very dancer friendly.
This is the regular dance hangout of the SLO Swing Scene. It has
a regular attendance of quality dancers, and a constant influx
of new dancers. It's earned quite a reputation outside of SLO, and
almost every week we get out of town dancers who drive up from as
far as Los Angeles. Out of town guests traveling from other states
often make it a point to stop in when they can.
Even though dancing starts at 8:00pm, things really get cooking
around 9:00 or so. The intimate environment from 8:00 - 9:00 is
great though, and allows you to get some practice in before
the rest of the crowd shows up. The SLO Swing scene consists of plenty of friendly dancers who love
dancers of all levels.
The bartenders at the Madonna Inn are friendly and accomodating. There's no
charge for entrance, and the water is free. *Stiffer* drinks
are of course available, and are reasonably priced.
The only downside is that there are no lessons offered *at* the
Madonna Inn.
